English for Italian?! I am trying to improve my Italian speaking skills, build vocabulary and conjugate in the real world. ;) I studied Italian for 2 years at University (20 years ago) and got to an intermediate-low/mid level depending on skill. I need to knock the rust off! Been doing lots of listening with podcasts, TV, and participating in Zooms with listening, reading and a little speaking. The hardest part is for me is still speaking! I am a very patient person, and need someone who will be patient with me as well!

I'm pretty chill, I like to say my Korean is basic or a small child's level, I can hear a conversation and maybe understand 30-40% of it and I might be able to put it together with the words and phrases I know. I had done 15 years of Hapkido so that's really where my love of Korean started from.

Hi! My name is Ashley. I live in Kansas in the U.S. I enjoy learning about other cultures; especially Asian cultures. I work full-time in healthcare IT and I'm a mental health therapist part-time as well. As if that wasn't enough, I'm also working on my PhD. I like to travel, but haven't done much since COVID except for within the U.S. for my job. My profile picture was taken when I visited Martha's Vineyard, which is an island off the coast of Massachusetts. It was rainy that day, which is why the sky is gray and there's rain on my glasses. :) The next country on my list I want to visit is South Korea. I would love to be able to learn Korean as well as make some friends that I can hang out with and share a meal or two with while I'm there! Since I'm getting a doctorate degree, you can be sure that I know how to speak and write English well. Also, since I'm from Kansas, I have what many refer to as a 'flat' accent, which means you shouldn't have any issues understanding me or my pronunciation. I would love to have you teach me how to speak Korean well and in return I'll do everything I can to boost your skills in English!
